This is a webpage about my fathers side of the family, our descendants and ancestors, in hopes that maybe we'll be able to connect with others who are related from the country whom our forefathers...and mothers, come from.
Research was done, but as many know who research the Norwegian history, because of name changes done to take the fathers first name and add "son" for a new last name, it's very hard to find out many of our ancestors up to a certain point. So this is what we have thus far, a very interesting history, indeed.
And we are continuing it, in hopes that our children and our children's children won't have to go through having to research their history...instead it will be right here for them to look at, and discover just whom they come from..with pride just as we do. Enjoy.

<--2-KNUTE THORSON married DORTHEA HERTERVIG in 1864 in Norway. DORTHEA, the daughter of LARS HERTERVIG and JORUN CARELSON, was born June 06, 1839 in Stavanger, Norway. KNUTE and DORTHEA drown on September 27, 1871 in the North Sea when their fishing boat, Marie, capsized, their bodies were never found. "They were on a voyage from Malmø to Bergen. that raged in the North Sea on the 25th and 26th of August. Of the crew, Omund Omundsen Maldeli leaves a wife and 3 children and Knud Thorsen, who had his wife on board, 3 children. The vessel was owned by these two men and was not insured." source: newspaper Dagbladet, 2/10-1871.
